Sanzyme Biologics Announces Results of New Clinical Study: Co-Supplementation of Probiotic Bacillus coagulans SNZ 1969® and Whey Protein Improves Amino Acid Absorption and Reduces the Incidence of Acne in Healthy Adults
Hyderabad, India – February 20, 2025 – Sanzyme Biologics, a pioneer in probiotic and offers clinically studied probiotic strains, is pleased to announce the results of a new randomized, double- blind, crossover clinical study evaluating the effects of probiotic Bacillus coagulans SNZ 1969® when co-supplemented with whey protein. The study highlights the potential benefits of this combination in enhancing amino acid absorption and reducing the incidence of acne in healthy adults.
The study, titled “Co-supplementation of Probiotic Bacillus coagulans SNZ 1969® and Whey Protein Improves Amino Acid Absorption and Reduces the Incidence of Acne in Healthy Adults: A Randomized, Double-blind, Crossover Study” was conducted by Dr. Raunak J. Soman, Dhruv Soman, and Dr. Kishan Pokuri. It focused on healthy adults aged 18-30 years and sought to evaluate both the absorption rates of amino acids from whey protein and the impact on acneiform lesions.
Key Findings
Conclusion
The study concluded that supplementing Bacillus coagulans SNZ 1969® with whey protein significantly improved the Cmax for certain amino acids. The results suggest that this combination could offer dual benefits for individuals consuming whey protein supplements—enhanced amino acid absorption and improved skin health. Furthermore, the probiotic was found to be safe and well-
tolerated.
Sanzyme Biologics is excited to present the promising results of this clinical study, which adds to the growing body of evidence supporting the benefits of probiotics like Bacillus coagulans SNZ 1969® in enhancing overall health. These findings underscore the potential of combining probiotics with protein supplementation to optimize health and wellness, and we look forward to future research exploring these effects. The same strain has been studied earlier for gastrointestinal discomfort, intestinal motility and intermittent constipation among healthy subjects and for oral and women health
